ATLANTA
The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta's iconic John Portman-designed hotel, has completed the final phase of a $70 million renovation. Every interior element of the hotel from the redesigned lobby, all 1,073 guest rooms and suites, and the revolving Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar and View, has been revamped for a completely refreshed environment.
The lobby's transformation includes elements of nature that are complemented with rich textiles and modern furnishings. Thoughtfully appointed seating zones with a modern color palette alongside unique, sculpture-inspired lighting provide a fresh backdrop for guests to meet casually with friends and family.
All 85,000 square feet of meeting space, including the Peachtree and Savannah ballrooms, are well-appointed with cohesive nature-inspired design elements carried from the lobby. For larger conventions, the hotel has direct access to more than 400,000 square feet of exhibit and additional meeting space at America's Mart and 200 Peachtree, an adjoining event facility.
For smaller, ad-hoc meetings, guests can utilize Tangent at Westin, a private lobby space for up to six complete with tables, chairs, AV equipment and more. The hotel's lobby was also revitalized with an upgraded Starbucks and lobby bar, renamed Bar 210, and is now home to FedEx Office.
Guest Room Enhancements
Guest rooms and suites have been refreshed with new carpet, paint and wallpaper, new ergonomic desk chairs, lamps, phones, environmentally-friendly climate controls, 42" flat screen televisions and new window treatments.
All guest rooms and suites offer the world-renowned Westin Heavenly Bed – featuring lush sheets, down cushioning and a patented pillow-top mattress. Guests will revive in the Heavenly Bath enhanced with the brand's Heavenly Shower, Heavenly Robe and White Tea Aloe bath amenities, in-room and high-speed Internet access.
Unchanged in the guest rooms are the floor to ceiling windows that offer each guest sweeping views of the Atlanta area.
Renovated Restaurant
The hotel's popular tri-level rotating dining complex received a complete makeover mid-2013. On the restaurant's lower level, banquettes featuring intricate millwork and tables covered in starched linen set the stage for a ballet of contemporary American seasonal dishes brought to life by Chef Jason Starnes.
The restaurant's view level, a 360 degree panoramic vista of Atlanta is exhilarating, whether the sun is shining or the city lights are twinkling. New to this level are four Digiboards, each displaying highlights of the landscape with history of landmarks such as Centennial Olympic Park, East Atlanta or the Georgia Dome.
The dramatic venue is available for banquets or corporate events. Group menus have been revised to highlight Starnes' seasonal offerings and provide guests with a hyper-local experience by offering food and beverage sourced solely from Georgia.
In the Café and Bar 210, the hotel also offers the Westin brand's signature SuperFoodsRX® menu, which includes nutrient-rich and delicious options to tempt every palate.
