SAN FRANCISCO
In celebration of its 110th Anniversary, the iconic Westin St. Francis, renowned as the “Grand Dame” of San Francisco’s Union Square, has completed a $20 million renovation of the Tower Building.
This is the largest renovation of this soaring building since it opened in 1972 as an addition to the historic 1904 Landmark Building. Comprised of 569 guest rooms on 32 floors, the Tower Building is one of the tallest buildings on Union Square and boasts sweeping views of the San Francisco skyline.
Remodeled by the design team at Strategic Hotels & Resorts, owners of The Westin St. Francis, the guest rooms and corridors exude a fusion of contemporary style. Done in shades of cool blue, ivory, taupe and rusty red, each room features custom-designed rich dark wood furniture, airy light-colored wall coverings, plush carpeting and large bay windows with floor-to-ceiling curtains.
Vibrant, modern paintings and mixed media artwork by San Francisco artists Derek Lynch, Kristin Kyono and Sandra Russell add a local urban aesthetic throughout the suites and corridors, while guest room artwork by Los Angeles painter Alex Couwenberg brings a touch of colorful Southern California culture.
A chaise lounge or a chair with an ottoman provides a comfortable place to relax in each room and the executive desks are a comfortable workspace for the productive business traveler. All guest rooms and suites feature the world-renowned Westin Heavenly® Bed – featuring lush sheets, down cushioning and a patented pillow-top mattress, which cradles and contours to the body for complete comfort.
Bathrooms are outfitted with marble vanities, new mirrors, sconces and the signature Westin Heavenly Bath with a rainfall showerhead and White Tea by Westin amenities. Corridors boast new carpet, wall coverings, ceiling pendants, artwork and elevator landing furniture, tables, lamps and mirrors.
The only hotel located on San Francisco’s famous Union Square, The Westin St. Francis is just steps from shopping, dining, theatres and art galleries.
The property showcases 56,000 square feet of meeting space spread across 32 diverse function rooms.
