WASHINGTON, D.C.

Choice Hotels International and Concord Hospitality announced the opening of the new Cambria Hotel & Suites Washington D.C. Convention Center. The hotel is situated in the historic Shaw neighborhood downtown.

"This is the first Cambria Hotels & Suites in the nation's capital, and we are thrilled to open in such a lively and historic city where both business and leisure travel are booming," says Michael Murphy, senior vice president, Upscale Brands, Choice Hotels International.

According to the latest research from Destination DC, the district welcomed a total of 18.5 million visitors in 2012, including approximately 16.8 million domestic and 1.7 million overseas travelers, setting a new record for the city.
