Lauer received his degree from Loyola University in Chicago. His passion for the industry is evident by the long list of organizations which he lent his time and expertise to throughout his career. He was an active board member for the Hotel Association of New York City, Avenue of the Americas Association, and served as an adjunct professor at the Tisch School of Hospitality at NYU. Lauer also sat on the board of directors for the Historical Hotels of America, Omaha Chamber of Commerce and the Nebraska Hotel/Motel Association.
"Being able to come back to Chicago and work with the talented team at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers is a wonderful opportunity," said Lauer. "I am looking forward to capitalizing on all of the amazing assets that the property has to offer while adding a fresh perspective to continue the momentum of the hotel's already successful standing in the city."
