NEW ORLEANS
Travis Tague, who has served as director of operations at the Hyatt French Quarter the past two years, has been promoted to general manager of the award-winning hotel.
The Hyatt French Quarter offers 254 guest rooms, more than 10,000 square feet of event space and the capacity to host groups of up to 300.
A veteran of the hotel industry since 1994, Tague joined HRI Lodging (HRIL), which manages the hotel, in 2011 as area director of human resources, leading that division of the company for all New Orleans area properties. He was named director of operations at the Hyatt French Quarter in 2012 during the hotel's $20 million renovation and conversion to the Hyatt flag.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation last year awarded HRI Lodging its Best Conversion award for the Hyatt French Quarter.
"Travis' promotion demonstrates the depth of our bench at HRI Lodging," said Larry Daniels, regional vice president of operations for HRIL. "We are gratified that our rapid growth is attracting some of the nation's very best hotel executives to our company but equally proud that our home-grown and trained new generation is ready to step up to higher responsibilities within our organization."
Prior to joining HRIL Lodging, Tague worked as human resources director of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New Orleans and the corporate director of human resources for Expotel Hospitality Service, LLC/Burrus Investment Group, managing the HR functions for 11 hotels.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management from the University of New Orleans. He has also served as president of the Human Resources Directors Association-Greater New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association.
