CHARLOTTE, N.C.
Embassy Suites Hotels and developer BPR Properties announced that construction has begun on a 250-suite hotel at 401 E. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. Embassy Suites Charlotte Uptown, scheduled to open in June 2016, will be the ninth Embassy Suites in the state of North Carolina.
The full service, all-suites hotel will also feature 7,000 square feet of meeting space and an on-site restaurant; it will be located in close proximity to the city’s Convention Center and popular NASCAR Hall of Fame venue.
The ceremonial groundbreaking was attended by approximately 30 guests including City of Charlotte officials and the project development team.
The Charlotte Uptown property is the first Embassy Suites hotel for BPR Properties, a long-time Hilton Worldwide franchisee partner. It owns and operates properties in other brands within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio, including two Hampton Inn properties in Asheboro, N.C., and Statesboro, Ga., as well as one Home2 by Hilton property in Greensboro, N.C. BPR also developed the DoubleTree by Hilton property in Greensboro, N.C. in 2007.
Embassy Suites Charlotte Uptown will reflect the brand's Design Option III style. The design features a variety of side-by-side suites, shotgun suites and one-room suites in addition to a contemporary atrium area, decreasing the amount of land needed for a new-build project and creating efficiencies for both construction and operational costs. These features also further enhance the guest experience, as there is a great sense of space and more natural light in guest rooms and public areas like the atrium, while still maintaining all of the offerings that are characteristic of Embassy Suites hotels including free cooked-to-order breakfast and Complimentary Evening Reception.
Embassy Suites Charlotte Uptown will feature all of the signature amenities standard at all Embassy Suites Hotels, including free cooked-to-order breakfast each morning, a nightly complimentary Evening Reception* and two-room suites with a separate living area, private bedroom, two flat-screen high-definition televisions and wet bar fitted with a microwave, mini-fridge and a selection of gourmet coffee and teas from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The property will offer complimentary 24-hour fitness and business centers, along with an indoor pool.
