HARTFORD, Conn.
On June 11, Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra joined city officials, hotel executives and other honored guests in celebrating the newly renovated Residence Inn Hartford Downtown.
In honor of the occasion and the Residence Inn’s continued commitment to the city of Hartford, Mayor Segarra presented hotel representatives with a framed proclamation declaring June 11, 2014 as “Residence Inn Hartford Downtown Day in the City of Harford”.
The 120-room Residence Inn Hartford Downtown in Connecticut’s capital city recently completed an extensive renovation of its guestrooms and public space, marking the hotel’s second major remodel since its grand opening at the historic Richardson building in July of 2000. Henry Hobson Richardson, a well-known 19th-century architect, designed the building at 942 Main Street which was built in 1876.
Renovated for the Modern Traveler
The Residence Inn Hartford Downtown has been redesigned to enhance the comfort and lifestyle of travelers on the road today. It offers guests flexible spaces and amenities to help maintain a healthy balance and routine while traveling.
The multimillion-dollar renovation project is the most substantial rehab since the hotel’s opening, and includes a major upgrade of its 120 rooms and public spaces. Because of the building’s unique historic structure which was first constructed in 1876, each of the hotel’s 120 suites is different in size and shape and features sleeping, living and dining areas, flat screen televisions, complimentary high-speed Internet access & daily housekeeping services. Upgrades to these suites include new sectional sleeper sofas, carpet, desks, mattresses and drapery, as well as new granite counters and stainless steel appliances in all kitchens and bathroom areas.
Conveying the same feeling of comfortable living on the road, the Residence Inn Hartford Downtown is one of the first Residence Inns to showcase Marriott’s latest public space package, transforming the hotel’s common areas into multi-functional living spaces where guests can relax or collaborate. The public space renovations include a new front desk area with open access to guests, an upgraded business center, new lobby seating and the construction of study pods for guests, with personal high-definition flat screen televisions that provide a private/public work space while outside of the guest room.
