ST. LOUIS
The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, America’s symbol of westward expansion, is currently undergoing major renovations that will bring an entirely new visitor experience in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of its completion in 2015.
These renovations include an all-new, interactive museum; renovated park grounds and improved St. Louis riverfront; a re-imagined visitor entrance; and much more.
Special commemorative events will begin in 2015 to mark the 50th, with grand celebrations taking place in 2016 to mark the completion of the renovations.
During this time of exciting change, the Arch will remain open and accessible to the public, and will continue to offer Journey to the Top tram rides; its Museum of Westward Expansion, however, will close for renovations. But as construction calendar unfolds, some aspects of the Gateway Arch experience will change and possibly be unavailable for short durations.
Visitors are urged to check www.gatewayarch.com for the latest construction updates.
