Pittsburgh Meetings Mecca Returns in Style

PITTSBURGH, Pa.

Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown recently opened its doors to area dignitaries, civic and community leaders and other special guests at an event to celebrate the triumphant return of Pittsburgh’s iconic hotel upon the completion of its major renovation project.

Live music, entertainment and special presentations were the center of attention in the newly completed King’s Garden Ballroom, overlooking beautiful Point State Park.

“With the completion of the expansion and renovation of the hotel, the Wyndham Grand will now stand as the largest hotel in the city, with 712 rooms and over 60,000 square feet of meeting space that includes the largest ballroom in the city," Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown’s sales and marketing director, Tom Hemer, said. "We’re thrilled to celebrate and reintroduce the property to residents, business partners and travelers in Pittsburgh.”

He continued, “The Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh is already enjoying a high number of reservations and special event bookings. These are trends we believe will continue to grow as the economy continues to recover.”

While the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown has expanded and remodeled, it has done so in a way as to preserve its 55-year legacy at 600 Commonwealth Place. Event guests will tour the hotel to see first-hand the recent updates and hotel features, which include:

  • The 17,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom.
  • A new gym and fitness center featuring an indoor pool with an exceptional view of Point State Park and downtown Pittsburgh.
  • A high-tech, 24-hour business center.
  • Dining options that include 3 Rivers Restaurant and Lounge and Scenes Lounge, serving fine cuisine utilizing locally-sourced ingredients. Entrées include neighborhood-inspired food selections with a modern perspective from Executive Chef Dean Gress.
