The Mississippi Gulf Coast Regional CVB announced the selection of Renee Areng as the DMO's new executive director.
Areng joined Visit Baton Route in 2002 as vice president of sales and marketing and in 2006 was promoted to executive vice president.
Prior, she served as a convention marketing manager at the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Comission and was involved in statewide and national politics in various capacities.
The regional CVB was created in 2013 and is focused on promoting southern Mississippi as a convention and tourism destination.
