Forbes Five-Star Ratings Expand to Latin America

Forbes Travel Guide, known for its Five-Star hospitality rating system and origins as Mobil Travel Guide, announced it will begin rating properties in the Caribbean and Mexico starting in 2015, with further expansions planned for all of Latin America.

The announcement was made as Lourdes Hainlin was named vice president of client services for the corresponding region. Hainlin reports to Peter Kressaty, Forbes Travel Guide's senior vice president of client services.

"We are proud to announce this important step in Forbes Travel Guide's world growth, as it continues to set the global standard for luxury hospitality," Kressaty said.

Forbes Travel Guide has a team of expert inspectors who anonymously evaluate properties against "up to 800 rigorous and objective standards." The company currently rates hotels in the U.S., Canada, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and the United Kingdom.
