THE WOODLANDS, Texas
The Woodlands Resort in Texas announced that its new lazy river is open for guests.
The 1,005-foot lazy river winds its way through the Houston-area resort's Forest Oasis Waterscape, surrounded by lush natural foilage. A mosaic by Houston artist Denise Liebl greets riders as they enter the river. Guests will be able to spot Herons, Egrets, Kingfishers and other wildlife found in The Woodlands as they drift down the waterways. A new plunge slide is also available, which launches guests into the lazy lagoon pool.
The new lazy river adds to the fun at the resort, which includes two-story spiraling double water slides, lagoon-style pools, waterfalls, underwater music and murals and Puffy's Sprayground, a synchronized water experience with waterspouts and fountains.
The addition of the lazy river is part of The Woodlands Resort's $60-million expansion and renovation, which also includes the opening of a new guest room wing and high-end steak house, alongside updates to the property's 60,000 square-foot conference center.
