HONOLULU
Hawaii is now preparing for the possibility of two impending hurricanes, Hurricane Iselle and Hurricane Julio, though Iselle is expected to weaken to a tropical storm before arriving in the Hawaiian Islands on Thursday, August 7—accompanied by heavy rain, wind and surf.
Julio meanwhile was upgraded Wednesday to hurricane status and is expected to hit the islands on Sunday, August 10.
If you are traveling to Hawai‘i during this time, the Hawaiian Tourism Authority recommends that you contact your airline and hotels directly with questions or concerns about your reservations. Most airlines have posted advisories and policies on their websites.
