HOLLYWOOD, Fla.
Thayer Lodging Group has acquired the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fla., and has shared plans to rename the property the Diplomat Resort & Spa—and embark on a $100 million revamp later this year.
The company addtionally announced the property will join Hilton Worldwide’s newest brand, Curio – A Collection by Hilton, in October 2014. The property encompasses 998 rooms and suites, several restaurants and a Spa, and more than 200,000 square feet of meeting and convention space.
The hotel remains open and fully operational for now, and will continue to conduct business as usual during the transition, with all existing guest reservations being honored.
Hollywood is part of the Greater Fort Lauderdale region, north of Miami in Southeast Florida.
