Starwood Shares Plans for New Napa Valley Hotel

ST. HELENA, Calif.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced its plans to debut The Luxury Collection brand in California’s Napa Valley in the fall of 2015 with the launch of Las Alcobas, following the completion of a multimillion-dollar renovation of the former Grandview Hotel & Spa.

Upon launch, the new St. Helena property will feature 57 luxurious guest rooms and suites, a signature restaurant, a 3,500-square-foot spa, an outdoor pool, meeting facilities and the brand’s signature amenities and services. Located in the historic city of St. Helena, this hotel marks the fourth Luxury Collection hotel in California.

Spanning 3.4 acres, the hotel will consist of the historic Acacia House, which was built as a private residence in 1907 and converted into a hotel in 1911, as well as several multi-unit cottages added in the early 1940s.

Last year, the St. Helena City Council approved the historic preservation of the property as a 57-room resort. The adaptive reuse project will reconfigure existing structures, preserve the Georgian and Victorian architectural flourishes and add modern touches.

The redesigned Acacia House will house the hotel’s lobby, restaurant, spa, fitness center, 3,500 square feet of meeting space that includes a grand ballroom, and seven of the guest rooms, while the remaining guest rooms will be spread across the property’s cottages.

Located at 1915 Main Street, Las Alcobas will neighbor the Beringer Wine Estate and offers views of the vineyard; the site is within walking distance of the Culinary Institute of America and the many restaurants, art galleries and boutiques of downtown St. Helena.
