SEATTLE
The Seattle Marriott Waterfront has completed extensive renovations to its lobby area and meeting spaces. The downtown Seattle hotel has been refreshed with elegant new furnishings, whimsical artwork and revamped technical capabilities.
With its location just steps from Pike Place Market and with views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains, the 358-room hotel near Pike Place Market now greets guests with a lobby highlighted by a towering blown glass statue aiming to capture the palette of a Seattle sunset; other additions include a fireplace and seating nooks.
The property offers 11,354 square feet of renovated meeting space with a blue-and-gray color scheme reminiscent of the waterfront. The space is accented by illuminated Italian fused-glass panels and custom sconces by Seattle-based artist Julie Conway. The hotel's 15 meeting rooms range from the Executive Boardroom, with sparkling chandelier, to the Grand Pacific Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 900 guests.
Additionally, the Seattle Waterfront hotel's pre-function space has been redesigned in the “great room” vein with communal seating clusters to encourage collaboration.
The Seattle hotel also offers themed breaks, including the cinema-inspired "Big Picture," "Sweetness in Seattle" and "Afternoon Siesta." The hotel team can lead groups on a tasty team-building session to Pike Place Market, where they will meet local artisans and farmers before cooking and dining on a meal incorporating the flavors.
To introduce its enhanced meeting spaces and offerings, the Seattle Marriott Waterfront will offer an iPad to meeting planners who book groups with 75 cumulative rooms over select value dates. The meetings must be booked by Sept. 30, 2014, and actualized by May 31, 2015.
