Transformed Maui Resort Shows Off New Look

WAILEA, Maui, Hawaii

A former Japanese private members club previously unknown to leisure travelers, Hotel Wailea has burst onto the Maui meetings and incentive travel scene following a $15 million makeover.

Perched 300-feet above sea level with ocean views, Hotel Wailea boasts a relaxed beach house design in all 72 one-bedroom suites, a newly finished pool with private residential-style cabanas (pictured) and an “orchard-to-glass” apothecary bar.

Hotel Wailea is set across 15 expansive acres with 72 spacious suites that offer privacy and sweeping views of lush gardens, three neighboring Hawaiian islands and the Maui coastline. Inside the contemporary suites, architectural elements such as coral and limestone walls, smoked white oak floors, and custom-crafted Hawaiian Ohia cabinetry are fused with island aesthetics, including artwork by local big wave surfer turned artist, Pete Cabrinha.

Capische?, the hotel’s restaurant, offers Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Specific dietary restrictions can be easily accommodated, as every menu item is made from scratch.

Hotel Wailea is beginning its next phase of upgrades, which includes an ocean view treehouse where guests can experience private spa treatments within the mango tree canopies.

The resort offers an array of event spaces to choose from, including three garden and ocean view lawns and both indoor and outdoor reception areas; the entire property can also be reserved for a memorable event experience.
