The Andaz 5th Avenue named Michael Santoro as executive chef.
Santoro brings more than 10 years of culinary experience to his new position at the boutique Manhattan hotel, most recently serving as owner and executive chef at The Mildred restaurant in Philadelphia. He will oversee the hotel's restaurant, shop and bars, which include a speakeasy-style bar on the lower level serving prohibition-era cocktails and small plate dishes.
He has worked in Michelin starred restaurants including The Fat Duck in London and Mugaritz in Spain. This appointment marks his return to the Hyatt brand, after serving as Chef de Cuisine at Blue Duck Tavern in 2008 during the reopening of the Park Hyatt Washington.
The Andaz 5th Avenue offers 184 guest rooms, including 47 suites, and 6,400 square feet of event space that is part of the Hyatt Meetings Network.
