The Palm Beaches Debuts Million-Dollar Meetings Incentive

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.

Discover The Palm Beaches has announced $1 million in incentives for meeting planners.

The news precedes the new 403-room Hilton Convention Center West Palm Beach Hotel projected to open in early 2016, which will provide a hotel directly adjacent to the Palm Beach County Convention Center, within the city's Convention, Arts and Entertainment District.

Groups from five to 5,000 or more qualify for the incentives if the opportunity is new to The Palm Beaches and will utilize both the Palm Beach County Convention Center and a hotel room block within the county. The incentive encourages meeting planners to consider a wide breadth of lodging options to accommodate their groups' requirements at a reduced cost (for the events planned prior to the Hilton Convention Center West Palm Beach Hotel's opening).

"The program is designed to celebrate groups, conventions, hotel and resort meeting venues that are available throughout the county from Boca Raton to Jupiter and from the oceans to the Everglades," said Douglas McLain, senior vice president of Global Sales for Discover The Palm Beaches. "Although we are known for, and proud of, our luxury products and experiences, 70 percent of our hotels and resorts fall into the upscale to midscale category.”

More than 50 hotels across The Palm Beaches qualify for this group incentive program with meeting facilities across the luxury, upscale, midscale and select service categories. The incentives start immediately and are applicable through the year 2020.

The following complimentary value-added planning services are also offered exclusively when sourcing an event with Discover The Palm Beaches, "The Official Sales Agent for Meetings and Conventions" in Palm Beach County, Florida:

  • On-site registration and visitor information assistance at your host hotel or the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
  • Attendee welcome bags, promotional items and information about The Palm Beaches.
  • President's Welcome Letter with locally made chocolate delicacies for select VIPs.
  • Preferred provider recommendations and referrals for any local support services, such as dining, attractions, audio visual, transportation and more.
  • Referral and recommendations for spousal excursions and offsite activities and events.
  • Recommendations on first-class sporting venues such as golf, tennis, boating and fishing.
  • Advice on socially responsible and sustainable meetings and events.
  • Access to our generous high resolution photo library and promotional e-tools.
  • Palm Beach Int'l Airport "Meet and Greet" service plus welcome signage.

This special promotion applies to new business opportunities only and is based upon actualized room nights. The final incentive is based on seasonality of the qualifying event and dollars may be credited toward the Palm Beach Convention Center, hotel and/or transportation costs.

Conveniently located a short distance from Palm Beach International Airport, Interstate 95 and Florida's Turnpike, the 350,000-square-foot Palm Beach County Convention Center features 100,000 square feet of exhibit hall space, 21,000 square feet of additional meeting space and a 22,000-square-foot grand ballroom.
