Atlantic City Meetings Magnet Begins Big Upgrade

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, N.J., has announced details of the $13 million property-wide renovation taking place over the next several months.

Improvements include a complete redesign of the Borgata Buffet, renovations to Spa Toccare, the casino floor, front desk, Borgata suites, and back-of-the-house staff areas.

Through December 24 Borgata will completely renovate and redesign its award-winning buffet by devoting $2 million to porcelain stone flooring, as well as resurfaced sky-like ceilings, all by Avenue Interior Design. The carpeting will offer a new take on a traditional Italian fresco, while the vertical surfaces will receive a textured, patterned-wall covering paired with a conventional sconce to give the buffet a comfortable feel.

Spa Toccare will experience an update to both its men's and women's lounges as well as a complete revamp of its workout facility, the Pump Room, adding new Life Fitness cardio equipment including nine treadmills, six cross-training elilpticals, two Powermill stepping machines, two recumbent bicycles, two lifestyle (spin) bicycles, and an upright bicycle. These updates come on the heels of a $1 million makeover earlier this year which included enhancements to Spa Toccare's 27 treatment rooms.

The evolution of Borgata's guest rooms began in 2012 with a complete $50 million redesign to all 1,566 Classic guest rooms and hotel corridors, and continues in 2015 with an additional $6 million dedicated to restyle 39 Opus suites in addition to two 5,000 square-foot Residence suites.

Starting next year, a redesigned lobby will showcase a complete resurfacing of the front desk, a brand-new ceiling, and the unveiling of an exclusive art piece located behind the check-in area. Additional refashions to give the casino floor a more modern Italian feel will be comprised of new carpeting, wall treatments, ceiling drapery, and light fixtures, in addition to the refinishing of columns.

Located in Atlantic City's Marina District, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa features 2,000 guest rooms and suites; 161,000 square feet of gaming; 182 gaming tables; 3,094 slot machines; an 80+ table poker room; 10 retail boutiques; five fine dining restaurants; nine casual dining options; a 54,000-square-foot spa; 70,000 square feet of event space; four signature nightlife experiences; and parking for 7,100 cars.
