NEW YORK
Situated on the corners of 42nd Street and Broadway overlooking Times Square, The Knickerbocker Hotel will open its doors Feb. 12, 2015, revealing the revival of a 330-room hotel that originally launched in 1906.
The property was first launched by John Jacob Astor IV and has witnessed more than a century of New York history, thought its first incarnation as a lodging was fairly short-lived. As a rumored birthplace of the martini, the historic Beaux Arts landmark has also served as office space over the years before its recent rebirth.
A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, The Knickerbocker will provide 330 guest rooms, including 27 Junior Suites and four Signature Suites; these will provide a contemporary layout outfitted in bespoke furnishings.
The Knickerbocker has also partnered with master chef Charlie Palmer to debut several dining venues. Guests will have the option to dine at Charlie Palmer at The Knick - the hotel's full service restaurant and bar; JAKES @ The Knick - a coffeehouse and artisanal café also available for private evening events (pictured); and St. Cloud – a stylish rooftop bar complete with a signature cigar lounge from tobacconist Nat Sherman. In addition, priority access and preferential treatment will also be offered to hotel guests at Palmer's flagship restaurant Aureole, located just across the street from The Knickerbocker.
The property will also offer a 2,200-square-foot event space for up to 250 guests.
