RICHMOND, Va.
Marriott International has announced the opening of a combined 135-room Courtyard hotel and 75-suite Residence Inn hotel in Richmond, Va. The hotels are owned by Apple Hospitality REIT and will be managed by White Lodging Services of Merrillville, Ind.
The unique combination property is located at 14th and Cary Streets in Richmond’s historic Shockoe Slip district, on the site where the Virginia General Assembly passed the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom in 1786. The hotels neighbor the First Freedom Center and are close to the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar, Brown’s Island, Valentine Museum and Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.
The hotels will share a custom lobby with a Colonial Federal style, a fitness center and 2,862 square feet of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 210 people.
