Big Meeting Space Boost for A.C. Resort

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.

Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., managed by Mohegan Gaming Advisors, has announced a $9.4 million multifaceted expansion of its convention space that will bring an additional 12,000 square feet of event space, including 11 new conference rooms.

This expansion is part of the hotel's long-term property reinvestment plan, following the recent $35 million Jimmy Buffet-themed Margaritaville and nearly $70 million expansion and renovation of Resorts under Morris Bailey's ownership.

Construction is set to begin in the first quarter of 2015 and slated to wrap in the summer of 2015 with 18 meeting rooms, three ballrooms and a multi-purpose showroom on one floor which provides easy access for the convention and trade show business. Additionally, the expansion project will include hotel bathroom renovations in the Ocean Tower.

When the renovation is complete, Resorts, along with Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, will have more than 64,000 square feet of meeting & event space consisting of 27 conference and event rooms accommodating from 40 to 1,350 guests.
