CHARLOTTE, N.C.
The Le Méridien Charlotte has opened for business, following a multimillion transformation of one of two towers that once marked the former site of The Blake Hotel. Starwood Hotels & Resorts previously opened a Sheraton hotel within the same space in late 2013.
Le Méridien Charlotte features 300 guest rooms and 18 suites. The hotel also contains 55,000 square feet of meeting and event space as part of the dual-branded complex, including the space available at the 305-room Sheraton tower.
Highlights include the 16,000-square-foot Symphony Ballroom and the 8,000-square-foot Carolina Ballroom for corporate meetings and social functions. Other additions with the renovation include the newly opened Evoke Restaurant, Longitude Bar and a fitness center.
The hotel is located within walking distance of Charlotte's Uptown Business District, home to the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, Discovery Place, Charlotte Aquatic Center, the Charlotte Convention Center, Time Warner Arena and Bank of America Stadium.
