DoubleTree by Hilton announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Rapids Airport, following a $2.5 million renovation that has completely transformed the former Hilton Grand Rapids Airport property.
The 226-room hotel debuts an open concept lobby, contemporary guest room updates, revamped meeting spaces, a renovated indoor pool area and a restaurant concept centered on locally-sourced menu options. DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Rapids Airport is owned by AWH Partners and managed by Spire Hospitality.
Located two miles from Gerald R. Ford International Airport and one mile from I-96, the hotel is near local destinations and attractions, including the Frederik Meijer Gardens, Woodland Centerpointe Mall, Van Andel Arena and DeVos Place. Nearby businesses include Amway World Headquarters, Steelcase, Eaton Aerospace, Spectrum Health, Meijer and GE Aviation; guests enjoy free shuttle service to and from the airport and within a three mile radius of the property.
In addition to an updated and contemporary new design, the hotel debuts a brand new all-day dining restaurant, Ganders, offering a modern American menu with a twist, including locally-grown ingredients representing the best farms, markets and food artisans of West Michigan, with signature dishes including pan-seared Great Lakes Walleye and BBQ Flank Grand Rapids "Philly Cheesesteak."
The restaurant also features a number of local craft beers on tap and by the bottle. For a unique spin on special events and tasting dinners, the restaurant can work directly with local breweries to create multi-course beer tasting menus featuring beer incorporated into every course.
An ideal setting for events of all sizes, the hotel offers more than 7,500 square feet of meeting space, including 10 flexible meeting rooms and one large ballroom.
