HONOLULU
Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa recently completed $100 million in design-forward renovations to each of the resort's 1,230 guest rooms.
The renovations, which began in June 2014, are a significant contrast from the earthen palate and traditional elements of the previous rooms, and now feature soothing shades of blue that evoke the sea and sky, with modern lines that draw subtle influence from Hawaiian culture. Long, thin desks with surfboard-shaped ends and Koa wood clocks aim to provide a distinct sense of place, and the expansive guest rooms showcase 55-inch televisions and the unique option of one king or two queen Hyatt Grand Beds in each room.
Each room also offers a number of new amenities implemented with ease and comfort in mind, including increased storage, hanging hooks, outlet pods, and dimmer-equipped light fixtures. A spa-like bathroom experience rounds out the renovation, with features including bidet-style Washlet toilets, new shower heads, and an expansive wet area.
These upgrades come on the heels of a number of other property improvements over the past five years, including the 2011 $13 million renovation to the resort's dining outlets, Jacuzzi, Regency Club and lounge areas.
The resort offers about 20,000 square feet of flexible function space for events of all types and sizes.
