Bustling Bloomington Hotel Wraps Revamp

BLOOMINGTON, Minn.

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., announced the completion of its Sheraton Bloomington renovation, a sweeping $15 million project designed to reinvigorate the hotel’s guest and public spaces, which includes the addition of three new meeting rooms.

Owned by WB Hotel Partners and operated by Wischermann Partners, the hotel’s renovation has also introduced a new modern restaurant, Lela, as well as the addition of Sheraton Club, the brand’s exclusive lounge destination for upgraded amenities and offerings.

“Following its expansive renovation, Sheraton Bloomington is a great example of the brand’s new direction as we work toward our Sheraton 2020 goal to solidify Sheraton as a leading global hotel brand of choice, everywhere,” said Bob Jacobs, vice president, brand management Sheraton and Westin.

Upon entering the hotel, guests are greeted with illuminated registration desks in front of a dynamic, large-scale art installation. The lobby is also anchored by a 30-foot bar and ten-screen video display, providing guests a full-scale Starbucks experience during the day, and converting into a high-design bar in the evening.

As part of this, Sheraton Bloomington now offers the brand’s new food and beverage program Paired, comprised of artisanal small plates and eclectic bar snacks served alongside suggested wines and beers.

The modernization of all 282 guest rooms and suites presents a contemporary design with multifunctional furniture pieces, LED lighting and large-screen Smart-TVs. The transformation, designed by The Getty’s Group, also features the introduction of an all-new Sheraton Club lounge and a refreshed Sheraton Fitness facility.

With the addition of three state-of-the-art meeting rooms, the Sheraton Bloomington now offers more than 17,000 square feet of meeting space, providing guests flexible options for any type of meeting or social affair.

Sheraton Bloomington has also added a new restaurant, Lela, which offers guests contemporary American cuisine rooted in classic technique. Led by executive chef John Mullen, III, formerly of 6Smith and B.A.N.K., Lela features prime steaks, innovative seafood crudos and house-made pastas in a modern atmosphere.

Guests can experience cuisines through shareable plates for a group or small plate options for two.

The Sheraton Bloomington Hotel is located on the Bloomington/Edina business corridor, near the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America. Guests of the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel have immediate access to the nation’s largest shopping complex, Bloomington’s outdoor trails, cultural attractions and entertainment—with Downtown Minneapolis only being a short drive away.
