Wyndham Hotel Group announced the addition of the 336-room TRYP by Wyndham New York Times Square, the second TRYP by Wyndham hotel in New York City, to its growing global portfolio.
Located on West 48th St. between Broadway and 8th Ave. in Times Square, TRYP by Wyndham New York Times Square, which recently completed a major multimillion-dollar renovation, puts guests near world-famous attractions, shopping and dining, major corporations and public transportation.
The new hotel joins the city's first TRYP by Wyndham location on West 35th St. between 8th and 9th Avenues, which opened in 2012. It also follows recent openings in Abu Dhabi and Mexico City, as well as an agreement to introduce the brand to Southeast Asia with eight locations in the Philippines over the next 10 years.
Another 14 hotels are scheduled to open around the world by 2017, including new-construction projects in the U.S. in Long Island City, New York; Newark, New Jersey; and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

TRYP by Wyndham New York Times Square features eclectic, contemporary decor; a social, inviting lobby known as Plaza Central, with a bar, a blog wall featuring news and programming from around the world; free Wi-Fi; LobbyFriend, a temporary online social network; and the brand’s signature rooms.
The property features 45 over-sized Family rooms with bunk beds for children and separate beds for adults, as well as five Fitness rooms, which come complete with stationary bikes, a yoga mat and a fitness kit for a private workout. All 336 rooms and suites feature free high-speed Wi-Fi. Penthouse suites offer separate sitting areas and private balconies overlooking Manhattan. TRYP by Wyndham also includes a 276-square-foot boardroom and is located 1.2 miles from the Jacob Javits Convention Center.
LobbyFriend, a temporary online social network, fosters an interactive atmosphere at the hotel by allowing guests to network, socialize and communicate with each other and hotel staff during their stays. Additional hotel amenities and services include a fitness center, business services and a blog wall in the Plaza Central comprised of multiple screens that keep guests updated on local events and news.
