Hilton Worldwide is partnering with Uber to offer expanded digital features through its Hhonors app—available to Hilton rewards program members—to simplify the travel experience for guests.
Hilton is one of the first major hotel chains to embrace Uber’s successful ridesharing service, which has been a source of controversy in some major cities and airports due to regulation and safety concerns.
As part of the pairing, guests can opt in to received push notifications or texts via the Uber “Ride Reminder” that alerts them of a predetermined time to head back to the hotel. The hotel’s address is then automatically set in the Uber app, and first-time Uber users will receive $20 off their first ride.
An additional “Local Scene” feature is set to debut later this month in 20 major U.S. cities that will provide members with a list detailing local venues frequented by Uber riders in each city. HHonors members can then use the app to gain insights from other Uber riders on places to explore.
"Hilton is a leader in digital innovation and has a unique mobile-first approach that makes them a natural partner for Uber," said Jonathan DiOrio, head of Travel Partnerships at Uber. "We are always looking for new ways to make the Uber experience even better for our millions of riders worldwide and are excited to offer these new features for the first time exclusively to Hilton guests.”
Hilton HHonors is free to enroll and available to all guests. For more information visit the HHonors site. More information on Uber is available at the company’s website.
