Mario Bass is the new director of sales and marketing for the 1,002-room JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. Bass brings more than a decade of strong group and corporate sales experience to the award-winning property.
The resort offers 265,000 square feet of meeting space, the 36-hole TPC San Antonio golf course, a water park and multiple restaurants and bars.
A native of San Antonio, Bass began his career in sales at the Marriott Rivercenter and Riverwalk hotels before moving into a senior sales position with the New York Marriott Marquis and eventually taking the reigns as director of sales for the hotel.
In 2008, Bass returned to San Antonio as director of sales and marketing for the Marriott Rivercenter and Riverwalk hotels where he consistently exceeded goals and lead the sales team in bringing numerous groups and guests into the properties year after year.
In August 2013, Bass accepted the position of director of sales and marketing at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, TX. Bass is dedicated to providing each guest with the best-in-class service and experience for which the JW Marriott San Antonio is known.
