Joel Freyberg has been appointed Managing Director of Gansevoort Park Avenue, the second location of Gansevoort Hotel Group in New York City. Freyberg began his tenure with the group in 2004 as part of the pre-opening team at Gansevoort Meatpacking, the brand’s flagship property, serving as Hotel Manager. The 249-room hotel features a 3,800-square-foot ballroom.
In his new role, Freyberg will be responsible for all aspects of the hotel, including guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance and sales and revenue generation. He will lead the property in the development and implementation of hotel-wide strategies while ensuring brand initiatives exceed guest expectations.

Prior to joining Gansevoort Park Avenue, Freyberg served as General Manager of The Chatwal New York where he launched the first luxury hotel in the theatre district, establishing the property as a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond status. As the Hotel Manager of Gansevoort’s premier property in the Meatpacking District, Freyberg successfully instituted service standards resulting in a Forbes Four-Star and AAA Four-Diamond rating while creating the first full service, luxury resort in Manhattan's historic Meatpacking District.
Originally from New York, Freyberg received his BA in Business Administration from New York University. He resides in New York City and Oyster Bay Cove, New York.
