ALBANY, N.Y.
The 204-room Renaissance Albany Hotel recently opened in downtown Albany, N.Y., across from the New York State Capitol on 144 State St. The property underwent a $48 million renovation that included the installation and addition of wood paneling and marble floors.
The hotel occupies the same space that once housed the historic DeWitt Clinton Hotel. Nods to Albany’s history can be found throughout the property, especially within the lobby, which includes a series of 12 murals that depict scenes from the Revolutionary War, the Erie Canal and the city’s Dutch history.
Wellington’s is the hotel’s signature bar and restaurant. It showcases “small plate, high-end American fare,” alongside a number of classic and experimental cocktails.
The Renaissance Albany offers 8,505 square feet of total event space. The 3,400-square-foot DeWitt Ballroom is the largest available room, which can support up to a 340-person reception.
The property will eventually be connected to the Albany Capital Center, the new convention center being planned for downtown Albany, and offers access to area entertainment and attractions.
