ORLANDO
Marriott International announced the upcoming opening of the Delta Orlando Lake Buena Vista in December 2015. This will be the first Delta Hotels and Resorts branded property in the United States, operated under a franchise agreement by JHM Hotels.
In April 2015, Marriott International acquired the Delta Hotels and Resorts brand, which currently consists of 37 hotels located across Canada, offering nearly 10,000 rooms.
"We are thrilled to work with JHM Hotels as we continue to integrate the Delta Hotels and Resorts brand into the Marriott family," said Paul Cahill, global brand leader Delta Hotels & Resorts, area vice president of operations, Canada. “We are especially excited to debut the brand in one of the country's top resort and leisure destinations and look forward to welcoming even more guests.”
The 241-room resort is close to local Orlando attractions and is designed for both modern business and leisure travelers. It features a resort-style swimming pool complete with a kids' splash zone and pirate ship, kid's activity room, fitness center, complimentary Wi-Fi, onsite parking and D Flats restaurant and bar.
As a future member of the Disney Good Neighbor Hotel program, the resort will offer transportation to and from local attractions, including all of the Disney theme parks.
"The Delta Orlando Lake Buena Vista offers a guest experience unique to the market – the benefits of an upscale family resort combined with a boutique feel," said DJ Rama, president of JHM Hotels.
Delta Orlando Lake Buena Vista features 1,035 square feet of event space. The brand appears to be targeting the small meetings and incentive markets, at least for its U.S. debut.
