CASABLANCA, Morocco
Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, a new oceanside hotel in Morocco's largest city, is celebrating its grand opening with some special offers for its first guests.
The 186-room hotel cascades down toward the Atlantic, providing a luxurious retreat inspired by the ocean waves and its cool breeze. Most guest rooms and suites have balconies to take in the sea air, and the hotel's signature restaurant and lobby lounge face the ocean.
"With the city center and financial district just 10 minutes away, it's hard to imagine that this breezy, resort-like hotel is in the middle of such a busy urban metropolis," says General Manager Olivier Thomas. "For business travelers, it's the perfect home base in the city.”
To mark its grand opening, Four Seasons is offering the Experience More package with 20 percent savings off the regular room rate, as well as the brand's popular Bed and Breakfast package. Booking may be done online or by emailing reservations.morocco@fourseasons.com.
Dining and Drinking at Four Seasons
Located in the Anfa neighborhood of Casablanca, the city's most upscale residential district, the hotel's restaurants and bars create a lively atmosphere for gatherings with friends, family and colleagues.
Executive Chef Thierry Papillier's culinary roots are showcased in Bleu, a contemporary French brasserie featuring a unique elliptical open kitchen and terrace seating that allows guests to listen to the sea as they savor its bounty. Wave-like floor-to-ceiling windows look out to the Atlantic, with outdoor terraces lined with glass railing for unobstructed views. Inside, white marble flooring, wooden columns and banquette seating set the stage for a Provençal-influenced menu.
Bleu Bar is adjacent to the restaurant, and guests may also choose Mint, an inviting lobby lounge offering cocktails and an all-day menu, that's also the ideal place to indulge in Executive Pastry Chef Thierry Metee's delights during daily afternoon tea. Another restaurant and lounge, the poolside Latitude 33, is expected to open next spring.
For private business dinners and intimate celebrations, a cocoon-shaped private dining room with its own oceanview terrace accommodates up to 12 guests around a white marble table.
At Leisure in Casablanca
Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca’s Le Spa incorporates Moroccan influences with contrasting colors, patterns and textures. Traditional-style perforated lanterns cast a gentle glow on gold design accents inspired by the country's famous Argan oil. Here, a balneo aquatic experience with experience showers, an ice fountain, whirlpool and steam rooms await, as well as a 24-hour gym. Spa Manager Gaëlle Peiffer and her team of therapists have 10 treatment rooms available, including two couples' suites.
The 1,604-square-foot resort-style pool is surrounded by lush landscaping and five private cabanas available to hotel guests based on availability. The pool is open year-round.
Outside the hotel, distractions include shopping for traditional wares at the Habous medina and international labels at designer stores and malls, or exploring the city's historic sites and regional attractions. Groups can arrange for a day trip to Marrakech or hold a golfing event.
Memorable Events at Four Seasons
Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca offers 12,400 square feet of flexible event space, including the Atlantic Ballroom. Lit by a series of custom-made chandeliers comprised of hundreds of crystal rods as well as large traditional-style bronze lanterns, it's a grand setting for weddings, social events and corporate functions. At 6,240 square feet, it can accommodate up to 400 seated guests or 800 for a reception.
Additional options begin by dividing the Atlantic Ballroom into two junior-size ballrooms, and there are seven additional function rooms all accessible from the hotel's lobby. Of note is the Lighthouse Room, a space on the main level offering a private balcony with views of the 100-year-old El Hank lighthouse.
