SARASOTA, Fla., and LONDON
Far Horizons Tourism (FHT), a group accommodations provider for companies participating in medical association meetings around the globe, has joined forces with ATS Atlas Travel Solutions (ATS), a London (UK) based meetings, events & incentives firm, with offices in London, Edinburgh and Fort Lauderdale.
FHT founder Candice Steckler will continue as president of the company she established nearly 20 years ago. Gildo Plate & Luca Plate, managing directors of ATS, will be co-president & vice president, respectively, of the new venture. To help lead the growth of the partnership, the companies have appointed industry veteran Eli Gorin, CMP, CMM, as Chief Operating Officer.
Eli brings over 15 years’ experience in international meetings management, international group housing services and professional development/training within the global meetings industry.
“With the growth of international participation at conventions and congresses around the world, the opportunity to partner with ATS is one that will help FHT further strengthen its position as the leading provider of international group accommodations at medical congresses and beyond,” Steckler said.
“By combining the resources and expertise of both companies along with Eli’s experience and vast knowledge of the international groups market, FHT/ATS is poised for great things in the new year and beyond,” said co-president Gildo Plate. “Our focus will be on growing our strategic partnerships and working to support international associations … while securing best options for our global clientele.”
The venture will co-headquartered in Sarasota and London, with sales and support teams in Miami, Edinburgh, Fort Lauderdale, Florence, Madrid, and Paris.
Editor’s Note: Eli Gorin, CMP, CMM has also shared his knowledge of the industry in several Meetings Today articles and will also be leading our upcoming International Meetings webinar in May 2016.
