The Westin Fort Lauderdale announced Matthew Echevarria as director of catering and conference services. The property recently finalized a multi-million renovation of the 298 guest rooms and offers 22,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 5,049-square-foot Florida Grand Ballroom.
With more than ten years of experience, Echevarria is a Certified Wedding & Event Planner (CWEP) and Certified Meeting Planner (CMP). Prior to joining The Westin Fort Lauderdale, he most recently served as a senior event sales manager at The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, where he was responsible for driving catering sales and operations.
Striving to create a distinct customer experience, as director of catering and conference services, Echevarria ensures guests are aware of today’s catering trends, while piecing together an individual’s unique vision for their event. His responsibilities include increasing revenue and generating leads for the hotel’s wedding and social catering business. From extravagant arranged rooms to deliciously, tailored-themed cuisine, no details are overlooked from Echevarria and his team.
