Tim Brown, founder and CEO of Meeting Sites Resource and longtime industry supporter, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 25, 2016, as confirmed by MPI’s Orange County Chapter.
MPI Orange County Chapter President David Jacob wrote:
It is with great sadness to inform you of Tim Brown’s sudden and unexpected passing on January 25, 2016. As a past MPI President to our Orange County Chapter (1995-1996), as well as MPI’s International Board of Directors, Tim leaves a unique legacy in the meetings industry.
Robyn Mietkiewicz of Meeting Sites Resource and a frequent Meetings Today partner added:
“Shocked and devastated at the loss of an incredible man, Tim Brown. Tim was the heart of MSR, he made our team a family. He had such a big heart and made an impact on so many lives.
I had the pleasure of working for Tim for 12 years. Tim was more than just a boss, he was my mentor, and more importantly, my friend. He has been with me every step of the way, guiding me, cheering me on, and celebrating my career successes, which have been largely in part due to him.”
In his official MPIOCC statement, Jacob said that a "Celebration of Life" will be held on March 19, 2016, tentatively in San Diego and that the organization will pay tribute to Brown in its monthly meeting on Feb. 3.
Everyone on the Meetings Today team offers their condolences to Tim's family and friends, and greatly appreciate all of his contributions to the hospitality and meetings industries over the years.
