Hospitality Vet Glenn Graham Passes Away

Meetings Today sends its condolences to the friends and family of Glenn R. Graham, director of sales with the St. Augustine VCB, who passed away on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016.

Glenn worked with several Meetings Today staff members across sales and editorial in the past for some of the Meetings Today Live! events and also met with many meeting planners in his most recent role as the director of conference sales with the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra, & The Beaches VCB.

Glenn and his wife Patty, who he met while working in the restaurant industry, moved to Virginia Beach in 1979 where he began his life-long career in the hospitality business.

His first foray into tourism was as general manager of the Cavalier Hotel, followed by positions at the Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center, Amelia Island Plantation, Pinehurst, Sawgrass Marriott and finally the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Visitors and Convention Bureau. His contributions to tourism and hospitality have made a significant and positive impact wherever he served.

Glenn had a passion for golf having picked up the sport as a young adult. There were plenty of golfing buddies who played alongside him over the 45 years reveled in his favorite sport. And while he enjoyed golf, he most loved being with his family, including his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Glenn is survived by Patty, his wife of 42 years; his children Bridgette Colligan, Scott Graham, Jennifer Cook, Amanda Chambliss and Joseph Graham; 11 grandchildren; his sister Claudia Jobes and brother Paul Graham. The family requests any donations be made to the American Lung Association.
