RICHMOND, Va.
Quirk Hotel, A Destination Hotel, announced six new uniquely contrived venues designed with the business professional, the leisure traveler and the corporate retreat in mind. Each space is distinct from the other, ranging in capacity from 30 to 125. Combined, Quirk Hotel offers 5,850 square feet of colorful meeting and event space, comprised of three indoor spaces and three outdoor venues.
The six new spaces were aesthetically designed to transport guests away from the standard boardroom setting and immerse them in an environment that promotes free-flowing ideas and creative thought.
Love & Happiness. Located on the lower level of the hotel, accessible by stairs and elevator, this 720‐square‐foot space is ideal for meetings, presentations and screenings. The room features hardwood floors, two rustic barn doors that mark the entrance and local artwork displayed throughout. The space is outfitted with an 80” flat screen TV with plug and play capabilities and lightweight, movable furniture that can be rearranged to meet any style or type of meeting. Adjacent to the room is an additional 420-square-foot pre-function space.
Gray Owl. This 460-square-foot meeting and event space is perched over the gallery courtyard creating an intimate arrangement for up to 30 people. The room is ensconced in a bright gray color that blends with the light‐filled room which embodies 15 foot ceilings and a wall composed of floor‐to‐ceiling windows. The room strikes a balance of outdoor exposure mixed with indoor refinement.
The Lobby Mezzanine. Perfect for cocktail receptions and private events, this 750-square-foot function space can also be used as overflow for the hotel’s restaurant, Maple & Pine. Accessible by the main elevators, the Mezzanine offers an aerial view of Quirk’s lobby and bar. The Mezzanine is right outside the Gray Owl space and offers an ideal spot to host between 25 and 80 guests.
The Courtyard. This beautiful outdoor setting offers the optimal space for event receptions, meetings break-out space and small dinner events. The 1,000-square-foot courtyard is encased with a series of raw brick and angled glass walls on top of a colorful, checkered marble slab floor. Cast beneath strings of white elegant lights with an open-air concept, the courtyard is a memorable setting for a special event.
The Terrace. Offering stunning views of the Richmond skyline, the terrace is an unparalleled event space located on the hotel’s seventh floor. The 1,000-square-foot space offers its own indoor prep space and private bathroom. It’s an ideal space for unforgettable events of 25-70 people.
The Rooftop. Standing on a 360-degree panoramic view of the Richmond skyline, the rooftop is an unprecedented Richmond event space complete with its own bar. The 1,800-square-foot space provides an unforgettable backdrop for private functions for up to 120 guests. When not scheduled for functions, the rooftop bar is open for guests and Richmond residents to enjoy light bites and beverages.
“Our unconventional meeting and event space, along with our uniquely curated meetings breaks, were designed to open a patron’s mind, change their way of thinking and create unimaginable solutions,” said Kate McDonald Brown, area director of sales and marketing, Quirk Hotel.
To further enhance the meetings and events experience, Quirk Hotel has created an unparalleled on-property activity guide, incorporating local Richmond businesses, suited for both small and large groups. Quirk Hotel has created partnerships with Richmond owned and operated “Blanchards Coffee” and “Serene Suds” to host teambuilding classes ranging from coffee pairing to learning how to make all-natural, vegetarian soaps.
To further augment Quirk Hotel’s meetings and events programming, the property now offers sunrise yoga in all of the indoor and outdoor meetings and events spaces and works closely with the on-property “Artist in Residence” to curate group activities rooted in artisanal skillsets.
Groups can now work together to paint murals and construct collages to hang in their respective offices, or participate in “paint and pairs,” sampling local wines and handcrafted cocktails.
Maple & Pine Executive Chef Dave Dunlap can also design and conceptualize catering and event menus entailing three, five or seven course options featuring local beverages and small bites.
