Atlanta Airport Unveils $6B Upgrade Plan

ATLANTA

Atlanta officials recently announced a $6 billion, 20-year improvement plan called ATLNext for the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which currently ranks as the busiest airport in the world.

Contemporary ticket areas, a new sixth runway, cargo structures, 400-room hotel with travel plaza, parking improvements and a new concourse were all announced as part of the capital plan.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, nearly 900 people attended the inaugural State of the Airport luncheon at the Georgia World Congress Center, where the news was revealed.
