Conrad New York announced the appointment of Max Harris as director of food and beverage. In his new role, Harris will provide strategic leadership and execution for the hotel’s food and beverage concepts, including ATRIO Wine Bar and Restaurant, and Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar.
Harris has nearly 10 years of experience to guide Conrad New York’s unique culinary programs, centered on creativity, innovation and complete guest satisfaction. Prior to this role, he spent three years as Conrad New York’s director of banquets where he oversaw all facets of both front and back of house operations in tandem with the hotel’s exclusive banquet and catering partner, Union Square Events (USE).
Harris began his career as assistant banquet manager for the Crowne Plaza Times Square in 2006 before moving on to manage the daily operations at Joël Robuchon’s L’Atelier and Ty Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel as assistant food and beverage manager. After gaining experience at Crowne Plaza and the historic Plaza Hotel from 2009 to 2012 as assistant director of banquets at both properties, Harris joined the Conrad New York team in October of 2012 where he has served as banquet director.
”Max’s background, credentials, leadership and way of thinking distinguish him in the field,” said Robert Rechtermann, general manager, Conrad New York. “With his strategic guidance, we are excited about the future, promoting an optimal food and beverage experience, pushing innovation, driving profitability and excellence in service.”
Harris hails from New York and holds his Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island where he graduated with honors.
