Virgin America received buyout offers from Alaska Air and JetBlue, according to a recent report from Bloomberg News, which also broke the news that the company was evaluating offers last week.
Discussion between Virgin America and both bidders are ongoing, and a deal could be announced as early as next week, however, it’s also possible the Richard Branson-backed airline could receive alternate bids or even choose to remain independent. None of the airlines responded to requests for comments.
