Radisson RED to Hit Portland in 2018

PORTLAND, Ore.

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announced the signing of a new Radisson RED in Portland.

The new-build hotel is expected to break ground this summer and plans to open in mid-2018. The hotel will occupy the first eight floors of a 19-story mixed-use building to be known as Broadway Tower.

"We are excited to bring Radisson RED to the West Coast. Portland is a vibrant destination and the city aligns perfectly with RED's brand DNA," said Javier Rosenberg, COO, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

The hotel's design will encourage flow between spaces, breaking down walls traditional hotels use to separate areas such as the lobby, restaurants, bars and meeting spaces. The Radisson RED stay experience is complemented by an app that in addition to providing keyless entry to rooms allows guests the ability to order food and services as well as wirelessly stream content from their device to the television.

The hotel will also feature the brand's signature food and beverage outlet, OUIBAR and KTCHN. The bar and restaurant will serve locally sourced, sustainable food inspired by global street fare. It will also aim to capture the Coffee + Craft culture of Portland and will feature a menu of local beverages.

Radisson RED Portland will offer 180 guest rooms with efficient, modern, yet functional furniture pieces like a picnic table that replaces the traditional desk. Self-parking on site has been included in the development plans as well as three Event Studios for multi-purpose use.

"We are excited to partner with Carlson Rezidor to bring this exciting new brand to life in downtown Portland," said Walter C. Bowen, one of the hotel's owners and developer of Broadway Tower.

Radisson RED Portland is the second U.S. location the brand has announced, following Radisson RED Minneapolis Downtown which will open in late 2016.

The hotel will be managed by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and is owned by a group of investors led by Portland native, developer and businessman, Walter C. Bowen.
