KANSAS CITY, Mo.
The 295-key Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza Hotel announced it has begun an extensive transformation of the guest rooms, public spaces, lobby and bar areas—which will also create additional meeting and event space through a design that will blend a modern aesthetic with locally inspired elements.
The design concept highlights fluidity, aiming to foster a sense of place through use of textures, movement and expression of lightness found in water. Artwork and furnishings will be inspired by locally relevant architecture, including the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain, local museums and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
An elevated sense of arrival will include new Marriott exterior signs and exterior illumination. Reinvented guest rooms and suites will include new furniture, carpet, flooring, drapery, paint, artwork, lighting and accessories. Many of the bathrooms will boast a modern glass walk in shower with rainfall shower head and separate wand. A new “Plaza Terrace” event space will feature a sweeping view of the Country Club Plaza. In addition, a new private dining room named “Hyde Park” will be added onto the Main Street Grill; adjacent to the second floor conference and event spaces. Creative in approach and innovative in design, all meeting and catering areas will be revitalized to provide inspired functional space for corporate events and other signature celebrations.
The hotel is situated in the heart of Kansas City, in the Country Club Plaza area and adjacent to the trendy Westport historic neighborhood. Just four miles south of Downtown, the Power & Light District, Sprint Center and Kansas City Convention Center, the hotel puts guests in the middle of the city’s entertainment scene.
The Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza Hotel is currently home to nearly 15,000 square feet of meeting space, including a Grand Ballroom with capacity for up to 600 attendees.
