CHICAGO
The Westin Chicago Northwest, located in Itasca, Ill., is in the midst of an extensive renovation.
The current upgrades include all 408 guest rooms, dining areas and lobby. Post-renovation, the property will feature a modern interior landscape inspired by the nature surrounding the hotel, with unique, stylish decor. In addition, the property will have a Towne Square and Grab & Go Café.
GF Management, a national hotel company that owns and/or asset manages five properties within the Starwood Hotels and Resorts portfolio, purchased the property through an affiliate in April 2015.
“This extensive renovation, along with the implementation of our management system, will elevate this hotel to the leader in its market” said Jeffrey Kolessar, senior VP of development and acquisitions at the company.
Located 12 miles from O’Hare International Airport, the Westin Chicago Northwest provides a place to escape the stress of traveling. The hotel is ideal for corporate travelers with its 24 hour business center and study area. The hotel also offers over 50,000 square feet of meeting space including a 9,600-square-foot ballroom.
The 16-story, atrium-style hotel is located on Hamilton Lakes, providing a natural setting for an array of events.
“We could not be more excited about this upcoming renovation,” said Diane Howard, director of sales & marketing at the Westin Chicago Northwest. “The new design concept will transform the hotel into a modern oasis where guests can connect back to nature—we welcome all to experience the new atrium which will include multiple fire elements, seating areas and a vertical garden. Several new dining options will also be available including a grab and go marketplace and outdoor lakeside cafe."
The new lobby will feature updated furniture, paint, flooring, and decor, all inspired by the hotel’s natural scenery. Guests can utilize this space to come together to meet, connect, or relax. The new Grab & Go Cafe is perfect for guests who would like to get a quick bite or beverage before a busy day and a study area is located directly outside the cafe. Complimentary internet access is available throughout the entire lobby.
All on-site dining spaces will also be renovated. The fine dining area will feature a darker palate with deeper hues to set the tone of the night, and will also include a bar and private dining rooms. The casual dining area seats 127, including additional private dining options and will feature a lighter palate for a more relaxed tone.
All guest rooms and bathrooms are being completely renovated to include first-class amenities. Each room will now feature updated furniture, lighting, artwork, and decor, including a new 42” television. Guest room amenities include a media center, work lounge, closet, vanity, and guest area.
The bathrooms will also be updated with a new shower system, flooring, and decor. The palate includes lighter, earthy tones that match the natural, relaxed setting of the property.
The Westin Chicago Northwest also includes a state-of-the-art fitness center, open 24 hours a day, as well as the attached Hamilton Lakes Athletic Club, with complimentary access for guests and an indoor heated pool.
