Denver Airport Debuts Train Service

DENVER

Denver International Airport recently celebrated the launch of its new Denver-DIA train service officially named the RTD University of Colorado A Line—offering six stops between downtown and the airport.

The train service claims to be able to get passengers from the airport to Denver’s Union Station in around 37 minutes for $9 a ticket. The train runs from around 4 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. on weekdays and runs every 15 minutes. DIA is said to be the country’s fifth-busiest airport with 53 million passengers a year.

The Denver-DIA train service is part of the Regional Transportation District’s expansion plan to build 122 miles of commuter and light rail, 18 miles of bus rapid transit service, and add 21,000 parking spaces.

Three new rail lines are planned to open later this year in the Denver suburbs.
