HERSHEY, Pa.
On Tuesday, May 3, Derry Township and Dauphin County officials joined with ownership and hotel management for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Courtyard by Marriott Hershey hotel.
Located 515 East Chocolate Avenue, the hotel is part of a new development, which will also include a new medical office building, a multi-story parking structure, and a new freestanding restaurant.
Owned by Bears Creek Hershey Hotel, LLC, the hotel is a joint venture between Shaner and Chafia Capital Partners. Shaner Hotel Holdings, LP will manage the hotel.
"We're bullish about central Pennsylvania, and we are very selective about the markets we choose to develop new select-service properties." said Plato Ghinos, president of Shaner, "The Courtyard Hershey complements our other Courtyard hotels in Mechanicsburg and Shippensburg, and we're finalizing approvals with the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority to develop a new hotel [there].”
The four story Courtyard hotel will feature 120 guest rooms and suites, and the new Courtyard Refreshing Business lobby environment. Flexible seating options range from a communal table, to more private media booths with HD televisions and an even more intimate, semi-enclosed lounge area. There will also be a small meeting room, a bistro, fitness facilities, an indoor pool, and an outdoor patio.
