NFL owners revealed the locations of upcoming Super Bowls in 2019, 2020 and 2021 as Atlanta, South Florida and Los Angeles during a press conference on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. According to the Bleacher Report Atlanta beat out New Orleans in a popular vote while South Florida was chosen over Tampa Bay.
Atlanta was already considered a top contender for the Super Bowl in 2019 due to its anticipated launch of the $1.4 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2017. Meanwhile South Florida recently invested $450 million in improvements to the Miami Dolphin’s home turf and Los Angeles’ winning bid corresponds with the Rams moving from St. Louis to L.A. in 2016 and a new $2.6 billion stadium incoming in 2019.
The next two Super Bowls are scheduled for Houston (2017) and Minneapolis (2018). Minneapolis is currently on schedule to open its new U.S. Bank Stadium in July 2016.
