LOUISVILLE, Ky.
Karen Williams, president & CEO of the Louisville CVB, has been nominated to the 2016/17 Destination Marketing Association International’s (DMAI) Board of Directors with a board seat for the term 2016 - 2019. The nomination will be presented at this year’s DMAI’s annual convention in Minneapolis in August. Once confirmed, the term begins immediately.
Williams will guide and provide input to the strategic direction of DMAI during its quarterly meetings.
DMAI is the world’s largest resource for official Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs). The association says it is dedicated to improving the effectiveness of more than 4,100 professionals from nearly 600 destinations in approximately 15 countries. It provides its members—professionals, industry partners, students and educators—educational enrichment, networking opportunities and more.
DMAI has seen various personnel changes in recent months with the hiring of former Choose Chicago CEO Don Welsh as its president in January 2016, followed by a “structural realignment” in April 2016.
