Thompson Launches New Hotel in Seattle

SEATTLE

Thompson Hotels opened the Thompson Seattle—the brand's first property to open in the Pacific Northwest region of the U.S. Located adjacent to Pike Place Market, the boutique hotel, which has a culinary partnership with Huxley Wallace Collective restaurant group, serves as a contemporary landmark against the backdrop of Seattle's natural beauty.

A luxury hotel with a refined edge, Thompson Seattle features 158 mid-century modern guest rooms—including eight corner studios and two suites—a signature restaurant, a rooftop bar and lounge with sweeping views of Puget Sound, and more than 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.

"Everything about Thompson Seattle is infused with the same pride and craftsmanship that give Seattle its alluring character," said Commune Hotels & Resorts CEO Niki Leondakis. "We were driven to create a hotel that seamlessly combines the sophisticated, residential style that Thompson Hotels is known for with elements inspired by Seattle's aviation heritage and magnificent vistas of the landscape."

Olson Kundig, the internationally-acclaimed and award-winning Seattle firm, conceived the architectural design for the 12-story luxury hotel. Set against the backdrop of a vibrant downtown scene, Thompson Seattle features an iconic glass lantern structure with two adjoining solid facades.

A signature restaurant and rooftop cocktail lounge offer a rich array of Pacific Northwestern cuisine and inventive cocktails operated by Huxley Wallace Collective under the helm of Executive Chef Josh Henderson. Thompson Seattle's day-to-night restaurant Scout highlights locally-sourced items.

Scout will feature a Chef's Counter serving cutting-edge courses incorporating the region's freshest, seasonal and sometimes out-of-the-box ingredients. The Nest, the hotel's rooftop bar and lounge, is set to be a nightlife destination offering handcrafted cocktails and small shareable plates.

More than 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space with floor-to-ceiling windows can be configured to suit every occasion. Event locations Grasshopper and Dreamliner can be combined to host a reception for up to 150 people, while The Nest rooftop can accommodate up to 250 people.
